Meet Nicole and Michael Metzger!
We’re the Metzgers! We started our homesteading journey in March 2022, when we purchased our dream property in central Ohio; A sleepy thirteen acre homestead that we instantly began reviving upon arrival! We grew a 1600 sq ft garden, planted four new fruit trees, managed the eight already on site, and stuck in several berry plants. We brought with us our trusty mutt, Dozer, added sixteen baby chicks two weeks after moving in, acquired several barn cats, and got married on the homestead that same year. It was one for the books, that’s for sure!

Hi, I’m Nicole! A true Ohioan at heart and a recently converted country girl. I did not grow up living the homestead, farm, or country lifestyle but, man, am I lucky to have found my slice of heaven out here!
I love all things food! Cooking it, prepping it, eating it, you name it! I also have a passion for sourcing quality, whole food for my family. Gardening and growing my own food comes right along with that, which was the main catalyst in finding a property where we could raise our own meat, eggs, and produce.
I am a natural living enthusiast, much to my husband’s dismay 🙂 I’m always on the lookout for easy ways to swap cleaner products for the toxic ones. I also have a cabinet (maybe a drawer or two, as well) full of essential oils and natural remedies.
This past year, I became a wife to the world’s most loving husband. Marriage has been an absolute dream and I look forward to growing old with this man. He is an amazing father, the hardest worker, and the most genuine, salt-of-the-earth, guy I know. But don’t tell anyone else because he’s all mine!
I also recently became a bonus mom to the two most incredible kids. It has been the most amazing and wild thing to ever happen to me. Step-motherhood is one of my greatest joys and has taught me SO much about who I am.
